A superbly crafted 1:72 scale model of an easyJet Airbus A319 jet aircraft.

All Bravo Delta models are hand painted with up to 36 coats, resulting in a luxurious finish which closely resembles the aircraft itself. Bravo Delta scale aircraft models are made using kiln dried mahogany.

The Airbus A319 is very much the workhorse of the skies, traditionally operating short to medium haul routes for low cost and legacy network airlines around the world. Manufactured using parts made across Europe and further afield, the Airbus A319 is assembled in Toulouse in the south west of France.

This easyJet Airbus A319 model aircraft makes an ideal gift for anyone associated with the airline industry, or who is a frequent flier with the airline.

Launched in 1995 by (later Sir) Stelios Haji-Ioannou, easyJet has been developed using the American low cost Southwest Airlines as its model. The airline started operations by offering short hop UK domestic flights for "the price of a pair of jeans". Initially trading by bypassing travel agents, the airline's early aircraft were emblazoned with the number of the airline's call centre. As the internet "took off", the airline moved rapidly to e-commerce, soon claiming to be the "web's favourite airline", directly mocking the slogan previously used by British Airways, who claimed to be the "world's" favourite airline.

easyJet is now the second largest European low cost airline behind Ryanair, and is often seen by consumer analysts as the "friendly" face of low cost flying, especially when compared to the latter's zero flexibility approach!

Although easyJet started using leased Boeing 737-200 aircraft before expanding with a fleet of Boeing 737-700 series machines, the airline has operated an all Airbus fleet since 2011. The easyJet Airbus fleet was unique in having a higher density of seating, made possibly by removing one of the toilets and then adding an extra over-wing exit in order to meet safety requirements.

With a fleet of 138 Airbus A319 aircraft, together with 15 more belonging to subsidiary easyJet Switzerland, easyJet is the largest operator of this type. The airline also has 57 Airbus A320-200 aircraft in its fleet, together with 69 orders for this type, and an additional 100 confirmed orders for the Airbus A320neo.
