Dinner with the Mafia Game.
The Sicilian Morello crime family of Manhattan ran Coney Island in the early 20th Century. The gangs at the time were ruthless and criminal but they worked and lasted as they did because they governed themselves under the politics of respect and loyalty. The men in the gangs are often depicted as having a air of class about them and though what they did and the extent to which they would ‘do what was necessary’ seems brutal and unjust, it cannot help but be said that they were stylish people and can be viewed as being fairly sophisticated (considering the gangster role they played) – this is especially reinforced when considering the factual visualisation of ‘gang culture’ in the modern day, that runs on mistranslated principals deriving back to the original systems of republican force such as the Mafia…
The Mafia were just plain cool, and all attempts to recreate the image they portray simply get hopelessly lost. They were very smart, highly organised, respectful and, as depicted due to Italian traditionalism: generous. Well, you know have the chance to accurately get into character and enjoy an evening pretending to play the part of a swarvé mobster!
