Rural Leisure Transportable House Specifications

Transportable home chalets where specified in the order can be constructed in compliance with BS 3632 Chassis alternatives (Engineers report provided at extra cost)

• (1) Transportable rigid chassis with lifting hooks and cross beam separators.

• As 1 above but Glue-Lam beams in lieu of rigid chassis.

• As 1 above but steel I beams in lieu of Glue-Lam beams.

• As 1 above but sitting on welded detachable steel lifting frame.

Floor

• Minimum ex 31mm Tongue and grooved boarding face screwed to ex 100 x 50 framing to reduce creak and allow easy subsequent access. A vapour barrier is fitted over the tanalised framework and 100mm of Crown Wool or polystyrene - U Value 0.37 W/m2 deg. C or Foil Tek Double – U Value 0.25 W/m2 K.

The floor is coated with Polyurethene Floor Varnish to enhance the appearance with rich clarity.

Exterior Walls

• Figs. 1 & 2 overleaf show Softwood 50/70mm double/triple finger interlocking joint along the full length of each log.

• Wallboards insulated and studded with Phenolic foam and foil board, Studding and match boarding or insulated plasterboarding • At each corner the wood is machined with a weather resistant cross-halved joint, which adds extra rigidity to the structure (see figs 3 & 4 below).

The external walls are coated with a combination of Butinox 1, this comes in a large selection of standard and non-standard colours. It provides additional fungicide, insecticide & UV protection. Two coats of Butinox 4 clear are then applied which gives a UV & weather shield. Every 5/6 years one further coat of Butinox 4 will be required to maintain the external finish (see manufacturers details).

Interior Walls

• Softwood 50/70mm double/triple finger interlocking joint along the full length of each log. At each corner the wood is machined with a weather resistant cross-halved joint, which adds extra rigidity to the structure.

• The use of integral partition walls as part of the building footprint adds to the rigidity of the dwelling.

Roof

• Support comprises one full-length ridge purlin and intermediate (mid-span) purlins.

• Above the purlins 18mm thick stress relieved tongue & grooved roofboards are fixed. These attractively finished boards are visible from the inside of the cabin and provide a finish contemporary to the rest of the cabin.

• Above the roofboards Thermaroof TR31 (Aerodeck) or Celotex Tempchek Deck TD2000 (which is a rigid closed cell foam with two skins of reflective foil) between 50 x 50mm or 50 x 100mm R/S carcassing and 18 - 25mm plywood board laminated on one side is fitted. U Value 0.32 W/m2 K. Higher levels of insulation are available at extra cost.

• Above the plywood a single skin of Foil Tek or `Protect 300` is fitted as a membrane, waterproof barrier and second line of defence.

• The final coat is a double layer of glass fibre reinforced bituminous felt rectangular shingles which have a 15 year warranty and achieve a fire rating of: Ext. S.A.A. Colour choice: Slate grey, Two tone red, Brown and Green.

Roof Overhangs

• Large roof overhangs of 250mm or more at the eaves protect the wall logs from adverse weather.

• Apex overhangs do the same as above and offer cabins with integral balconies further protection when the weather becomes stormy.

• Overhangs offer additional protection to the occupants from the hot summer sun.

• In wintertime when the azimuth of the sun is lower rays can penetrate under the Eaves to supply welcome warmth and light.

Windows

• Unless stated otherwise, windows are fitted with High performance nominal 26mm double glazed units.

• Reduced joinery outward opening tilt and turn inward opening casement/fixed light combinations as illustrated in fig 5.

• Casements are fitted with a Single compressible high performance weatherseal.

• Windows are treated with an optional preservative. Shutters are fitted as an optional extra (see price list).

Doors

• High performance toughened nominal 26mm double glazed safety units fitted with a 5-year warranty into reduced joinery frames and leaves.

• Door leaves are fitted with external grade finished heavy butt hinges five lever door lock, handle and Euro type cylinder.

• Casements are fitted with Single compressible high performance weatherseal.

• Doors are treated with an optional extra preservative (see price list). Shutters are fitted as an optional extra (see price list).

General Specification

• Pre-treatment of timber with Borax water repellant, anti-fungal agent and insect

• Repellant – Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986 HSE No. 5687, BBA Certificate number 93/2893 (Second issue 1998). Disodium Ocoborate Tetrahydrate Na2 B8 O13 .4H2O

• Windows & Doors may be made compliant with BS6262 & 6206.

• Where applicable (optional package) Gas flues can be fitted in accordance with BS5440.

• Where applicable timber products will be treated in accordance with BS5589.

• Where applicable services will be specified and installed in accordance with BS6762.

• If required (for instance in public buildings) the timber surface can be coated with a clear intumescent fire resisting varnish. This coating is costly and would not normally be required as timber is capable of retaining its structural integrity for long period in fire.

• Electrical wiring and fittings installed to IEE standard (optional package).

• Electric water heating system. Gas or Oil alternatives if required (optional package).

• Heating via Low Wattage panel heaters in living areas (optional package).

• TV point and telephone point (where appropriate) to living area (optional package).

• Smoke detectors (optional package).

• Units from Pine or Gallery style range as per plans incorporating Kitchen sink and Single Drainer.

Appliance pack provided by arrangement.

• Bath with mixer taps and rose attachment OR Shower cubicle with electric shower.

• Wash Hand Basins complete with taps and fitted with support brackets. Alternative pedestal if required.

• Towel rail, Toilet Roll Holder, Cup Holder by arrangement.

• Wardrobes, Dressing Table, Bedside Cabinet in the Shreiber Range or Similar.
