Rural Leisure Swimming Pool Specification.

See our full list of swimming pools

Foundations & Floor Covering

• The system is designed so that it will evenly distribute the loadings around the perimeter, although any internal walls take some of the roof loadings. Taking account of B.S., Building regulations and ground conditions, these loads are transferred to the substrate on a Concrete Strip Foundation complete with 150mm solid blockwork up to dpc level. A site visit is always required before a firm quotation can be provided.

• The perimeter slab consists of hardcore fill, a sand blinding, dpm (1200 gauge) topped with a reinforced concrete slab.

• After installation of the pool we lay a cement screed.

• With the exception of the plant room our standard specification provides for a waterproof carpet to all walking areas.

• Excavated soil is placed in a heap and becomes the responsibility of the customer unless a separate quotation for removal is agreed by the customer.

Exterior Walls

• Walls are made from 70mm northern European softwood utilising a tongue and groove interlocking joint along the full length of each log. Support and restraint posts are used where appropriate.

• Wallboards can be insulated and studded with Phenolic foam and foil board, studding and match boarding or insulated plaster boarding.

• At each corner the wood is machined with a weather resistant cross-halved joint, which adds extra rigidity to the structure.

• The external walls are coated with a combination of Butinox 1; this comes in a large selection of standard and non-standard colours, it provides additional fungicide, insecticide & UV protection. Two coats of Butinox 4 clear are then applied which gives a UV & weather shield. Every 5/6 years a further application of Butinox 4 will be required to maintain the external finish (see manufacturer's details).

Interior Walls

• Softwood 70mm interlocking joint (as fig 1, but without the insulation) along the full length of each log. At each corner the wood is machined with a weather resistant cross- halved joint, which adds extra rigidity to the structure.

• The use of integral partition walls as part of the building footprint adds to the rigidity of the dwelling.

Roof (See fig 2)

• Support comprises one full-length ridge purlin and intermediate (mid-span) purlins, which are in turn supported by trusses and beams.

• Above the purlin`s 18mm thick tongue & grooved roofboards are fitted. These attractively finished boards are visible from the inside of the cabin and provide a finish contemporary to the rest of the cabin.

• Above the roofboards rigid closed cell foam with two skins of reflective foil or equivalent is inserted between stud work and 18mm plywood is fitted on top. U- Value 0.32 W/m2 K. Higher levels of insulation are available at extra cost.

• Above the decking a single skin of Foil Tek or `Protect 300` (a breather membrane) is fitted. This is a waterproof barrier and provides a second line of defence.

• The external wall is completed with decorative fascia and barge boards and Brown Squareline guttering and down pipes are fitted and connected to the customers adjacent gulleys, placed in agreed positions. Alternatively we can provide a quotation for this work.

The final coat is a double layer of glass fibre reinforced bituminous felt rectangular shingles which have a 15 year warranty and achieve a fire rating of: Ext. S.A.A. Colour choice: Slate grey, Two tone red, Brown and Green are readily available, other colours can be ordered as specials.

Roof Overhangs

• Large roof overhangs of 250mm or more at the eaves protect the wall logs from adverse weather.

• Apex overhangs do the same as 1 above and offer cabins with integral balconies further protection when the weather becomes stormy.

• Overhangs offer additional protection to the occupants from the hot summer sun.

• In wintertime when the azimuth of the sun is lower rays can penetrate under the eaves to supply welcome low level warmth and better light penetration.

Windows

• High performance nominal 26mm double-glazed units to BS 6206 and 6262 offering a 10-year warranty, fitted into reduced joinery outward opening tilt and turn opening casement/fixed light combinations. Other styles are available on request.

• Casements are fitted with a Single compressible high performance weatherseal. Shutters are fitted as an optional extra (see price list). Doors

• High performance toughened glass double glazed safety units (nominal 20mm) with a 10-year warranty fitted into reduced joinery frames and leaves.

• Door leaves are fitted with external grade heavy butt hinges, five lever door lock, handle and Euro cylinder.

• Casements are fitted with compressible high performance weatherseal.

Shutters are fitted as an optional extra (price on request).

Customer requirements

The site must be clear for access, unloading and installation, with sufficient ground area to unload, store, un-pack and lay-out for assembly. Storage should be immediately adjacent to the site. The storage and working area should be well drained with stone or bark already laid prior to commencement to permit the works to be carried-out safely.

An all terrain mechanical unloading device such as a Loadall, capable of lifting at least 3½ Tonnes should be provided to unload all materials.

Approvals for laying of foundations are the responsibility of the customer. Choice of roof and wall colour in due time is vital to ensuring continuity on site.

Provide for our temporary use; toilet facilities, mains electricity or fuel for generators, drinking water supply, storage for our tools immediately adjacent to the job-site, facility to burn debris or to remove from site at your cost.

If the customer has any special requirements to this proposal then these should be discussed and agreed with a Director of the company and confirmed by Rural Leisure Limited in writing.
