What a wonderful feeling it is, to stay in the oldest inhabited house in Scotland. Dating back to 1107, Traquair has
been witness to many historical events. The house was formerly a hunting lodge for the kings and queens
of Scotland and late a refuge for Catholic priests in times of terror. The spacious double bedrooms are furnished
with antiques and canopied beds are inviting and oh, so romantic! Traquair offers superb home-cooked dinners
in the eighteenth century Still Room. For pre-dinner drinks, you can sample the delicious ales from the 200-year old
brewery housed in one of the wings of the castle. A truly magical experience.
