Falconry experience in Northamptonshire
Falconry is an ancient art with a history stretching back over 4,000 years. It has reportedly been the favoured sport
of every King of England from Alfred the Great to George III, a period of about 1,000 years! Icarus Falconry in the
picturesque village of Holdenby outside Northampton will introduce you to some spectacular birds of prey in this
educational and enjoyable experience. The perfect surroundings of Holdenby House allow you to truly appreciate
the magnificent beauty and grace of the hawk, owl and eagle. You will be given a tour of the centre before seeing
the birds in flight, coaxed by their experienced trainers. After this you get the amazing opportunity to free fly two of
the centre’s birds. The feeling of a bird of prey leaving and returning to your hand is one to cherish.
